Traumatic injuries are the leading cause of death and disability among people between the ages of 1-44 and the fourth leading cause of death overall. Traumatic injury is one of our state’s major public health problems.

Wisconsin Statewide Trauma System is an aggressive response to a major public health problem and the result of study, planning and the volunteer participation of EMS providers, trauma care facilities and other healthcare providers.
